Is this answer now outdated? If so, other than the google solution, how is it accomplished now? Is it browser-dependent? If you cannot see the checkbox right away, try clicking into the search field or typing any character. It will then extend downwards to reveal the box. I still do not get that checkbox. Clicking in the search field does show a drop-down, but contains no checkboxes - only prior searches and trending.

You can restrict your search to multiple subreddits by putting a comma between each subreddit.
