What is the difference between macbeth army and malcolm army

She demands that the group meet again in the morning, predicting Macbeth will come looking for them then. The Lord notes that Macduff has joined Malcolm at court in England, and the pair is gathering troops to attack Macbeth. Macbeth visits the witches and demands they answer his questions. The witches conjure apparitions to do so. The first, an armed head, tells him to beware Macduff. The second, a bloody child, tells him no-one born of a woman can harm him.

The third, a crowned child, tells him that he will never be conquered until Birnam Wood comes to Dunsinane. Finally, a pageant of eight Kings appears, followed by the spirit of Banquo. The son attempts to stand up for his father, but is fatally stabbed.

The other family members are chased off-stage. Ross informs Macduff that his family have been slaughtered, and advises him to take revenge. She repeatedly makes the motion of washing hands, claiming there is blood on them. It is reported that Macbeth has fortified Dunsinane in preparation. The English forces arrive at Birnam wood, and Malcolm instructs the troops to use its greenery as a disguise to approach the castle.

Seyton announces the Queen has died, and a servant tells Macbeth that he has witnessed Birnam wood moving towards the castle in actuality, the disguised English army. Macbeth comes across a young member of the English forces, Young Siward, and kills him instantly. He leaves just as Macduff enters, searching for the tyrant. Macduff succeeds in hunting down Macbeth. The King is initially unafraid: assured that he cannot be harmed by anyone born by a woman. But Macduff reveals he was not born naturally, but delivered by caesarean.

However, her guilt soon turns her mad as well and, tormented by nightmares, she sleepwalks as she tries to wash out the invisible bloodstains on her hands. She dies offstage in the final act, a supposed suicide. Macduff, Thane of Fife, is loyal to King Duncan. Full of grief and revenge, he persuades Malcolm to lead an army against Macbeth, challenges Macbeth one-to-one and slays him.

O horror, horror, horror! The Three Witches, or Three Weird Sisters, are the morally ambiguous characters whose prophecies drive Macbeth to his tyrannical desire for power. When Macbeth seeks them out again, they produce apparitions of his downfall while delivering three more prophecies to him: beware Macduff, none of woman born will harm him, and he will be safe until a local wood, Birnam Wood, marches into battle against him. When Macduff comes to find him in England, Malcolm initially tests his loyalty.

Ultimately, Malcolm is convinced that they need to enact vengeance and fight Macbeth. Lady Macbeth persuades Macbeth to kill King Duncan by preying on his sense of manhood and courage. When Macbeth reveals that he has had a change of heart and is no longer willing to kill King Duncan, Lady Macbeth becomes enraged.

The plan goes well until Macbeth fails to leave the bloody daggers by the drunken men. Macbeth is notably rattled and has ostensibly murdered the chamberlains out of fear of being caught and in horror for what he has chosen to be a part of. While such a move would seem logical given the circumstances, some view it differently. Some characters view their escape as a symptom of guilt and wonder if Malcolm and Donalbain are actually the murderers. Macbeth kills Banquo because he sees Banquo as another threat to the throne.

Macbeth, never fully understanding how the prophecy would manifest, once again takes matters into his own hands. Even though Banquo is his close comrade, Macbeth is now on a single-minded mission to protect himself and his position, and he kills Banquo to maintain the throne. Macbeth might be emotionally numb at this point in the play, beyond the point of sadness or even regret, especially for a wife who has helped bring him to ruin.
